Valve lash clearance going out of adjustment too often? Loss of compression or engine smoking? Those could be some of the signs of excessive wear on valves and valve seats. Our mechanics will determine if cutting or replacing valve and seats is the best option for you. Our decisions are made based on technical information available to us from the manufacturer. While we are there, we’ll makesure springs, valve locks, valve seals and valve guides are inspected/ replaced for a complete high quality job.

Cylinder head is checked for straightness before the resurfacing process. If it falls within manufacturer’s specification it is resurfaced to restore flatness. That prevents premature failures and ensures the gasket surface will seal correctly preventing premature or future leaks.

The purpose of a camshaft bearing is to support the camshaft as it rotates and at the same time it pushes the valves and injectors to open and close. They wear over time and can cause loss of oil pressure and in some time it can spin out of place causing catastrophic failure to camshaft head and valves. Cam bearings are replaced as part of the cylinder head refurbishing process. They are checked for proper alignment and proper clearance specifications
Cam bearings
Cylinder head cracks are visible to the naked eye for the most part. However, some are internal or very small and cannot be seen with the naked eye. A pressure test will help locate any cracks, injector sleeve leaks and help determine if the cylinder head is a good candidate for a refurbish process. In fact, it is the first step taken towards refurbishing a used cylinder head.
Pressure test
Injector sleeves play the essential function of sealing the injector nozzle avoiding possible leaks or combustion problems. Injector sleeves are pressed in the head in the injector cavities with their respective seal rings and sealing compounds. A very common characteristic of a failed injector sleeve is the presence of diesel in the coolant system or coolant in the fuel tanks.

Flywheel resurfacing is a crucial step in the transmission clutch replacement process. The flywheel must be resurfaced to prevent premature failure of clutch components.‍ - A smooth surface is essential to prevent clutch slippage.‍ - Clutch installation without flywheel resurfacing service will void your clutch warranty.‍ - A badly or uncut flywheel creates excessive slack in the clutch pedal.
